What we offer
If you are wondering if Rochester Area Moms is right for you, we would like to invite you to join us to see if the group might be a good fit for you and your family. Prospective members are welcome to attend up to two events before deciding to join.
We welcome you to bring infants under 6-months to any and all of our events with you to meet the special needs of mothers with infants. Spouses and all children of any age are welcome to join at any "family" event.
Below you will find different activities that our group offers:
Mingles for Moms
We meet quarterly for our fun Mingles for Moms. At Mingles for Moms, you can expect interesting and fun events, professional speakers and demonstrations to name a few of the things we do. The Mingles for Moms is different each time and our meeting location changes each time as well depending on what we are doing. We also hold "work on whatever" Mingles for Moms as a chance for you to catch up on whatever it is you want to work on while enjoying the company of other moms.
No time, energy or desire to cook a meal? No problem! We provide members with home cooked meals after the birth of a child, an adoption, a family crisis or someone just in a time of need. Our members graciously offer their time to cook meals for each other when a need arises. Who doesn't love a home cooked meal just when you need it? And, who doesn't love to help a friend out just when they need it? Win, win!
If you're looking for friends for your child, this may be just what you need. Playgroups are a great way to get acquainted with other members and their children. They provide an opportunity for you to spend time with other moms in a small group setting so you can get to know each other on a more personal level.
We offer both weekday and weekend playgroups. Weekday playgroups are offered once per week. Weekend playgroups are offered once per month with additional weekend playgroups offered as requested.
We know how important family time is and that is why we offer a number of family events throughout the year. Our family events have the highest attendance of any of our offerings because we provide families with events that are fun, engaging and leave people looking forward to the next one!
Moms Nights Out
Let's face it, every mom needs a night out from time to time. We all need a night that we can sit down for a full dinner without sharing, enjoy our drink of choice, laugh until our faces hurt and do not need to utter the phrase "is that poop or chocolate?".
Our book club meets monthly to discuss the featured book of the month. If you love to read (or even if you don't), you are welcome to join in on the conversation, share some laughs and enjoy great discussion. We may even bribe you with some delicious snacks and a beverage of your choice.
Working Moms Club
We know how busy working moms are and because of that, we want to make it easy for you to make connections and get a break from your work day. Working moms club meets once a month for lunch. A different restaurant is chosen each month and at times, we opt for a mani and/or pedi instead and just bring our lunch along.
Have you ever wanted to "cook around the world" or maybe just eat your way around the word? If so, cooking club might be the place for you. Cooking club meets regularly to enjoy cuisines that represent different parts of the globe. Each meeting has a different theme which may require you to cook something new or just taste something new. Either way, you are sure to make new friends and walk away with a few new recipes for your collection.
At any time, if there is enough interest from our members, we can create a new club. Maybe you are passionate about working out, community service, or even board games? If so, heading up a new club sounds like something you may want to take on! New ideas and club suggestions are always welcome!
